Between my Cuban heritage and a decade of living in Miami, this recipe was inevitable. I try and stay away from pork as much as possible so I created these Turkey Cuban Sandwich Sliders as a way to enjoy these flavors. It’s a simple party food for your next get-together at home.
The most important thing for this recipe is to use the best possible ingredients. It’s very simple so each ingredient makes a big impact. Also, make sure to drain your pickles well so the juices don’t come out while baking. This will make your buns soggy. I laid all of the pickles out on paper towels before adding them. I recommend Grillo’s Pickles which I usually find at Whole Foods.
These turkey Cuban sandwich sliders can easily be prepared just before you need them and reheated the next day by putting them back in the oven. I have made these for multiple parties because they are so easy to pick up in a cocktail party-style setup.
